Originally from Avon Park, Florida, Daphne presently lives in northwestern Alabama in the Mayberry-ish town of Red Bay. After graduating from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, she met her husband Rick while attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For years they worked with music and youth full time at churches in Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. Rick is now a bi-vocational pastor in Red Bay and splits his time between pastoring and band directing. Daphne leads worship at their home church, and after FINALLY finishing raising and homeschooling their three children, she now spends her time writing and composing. Their oldest children, Melody and Josh, are graduates of Bethel University in MacKenzie, Tennessee, where they toured extensively through Bethel's music program. Their youngest, Charis, and her husband Luke, are Marines and met on base in Hawaii while doing top-secret stuff in top-secret places. They now live in Paris, Tennessee, where Charis works with performing arts at the Krider Performing Arts Center. Josh and his wife, Bretta, live in Paris, Tennessee, also and have added three incredible grandchildren to the family, Isla (pronounced I-la) Caroline, Everly Jo, and Brooks Owen, and Daphne has discovered something that captures her imagination more than her books: being Grandaph! Melody and her husband, Jeremy, have settled in Nashville where she is the kahuna for Sam's Sports Grill in Hendersonville.
